NORFOLK -- The future of the Granby Tower site now appears headed to court.
Developer Buddy Gadams has rejected the government's offer to buy the land for $6.1 million, his lawyer Joe Waldo said Thursday morning.
The U.S. General Services Administration said it would seize the land at the corner of Granby Street and Brambleton Avenue after Tuesday through eminent domain whether Gadams accepted the offer or not.
Waldo, who said the land is worth more than the government is offering, said he has not heard from the GSA since rejecting the offer.
The issue of how much the government will pay Gadams for the land will now likely be decided in court, Waldo said.
On Wednesday, a GSA spokeswoman declined to comment on the land, calling it sensitive procurement information.
