NORFOLK--The Navy added a new warship to its fleet Saturday.

The USS New York was built out of more than seven tons of steel from the fallen World Trade Center towers. The commissioning in New York City included a flyover by military jets and a 19-canon salute.

"The hair was up on the back of my head and I was shaking," said New York firefighter Scott Koen. He helped come up with the idea to build the ship out of salvaged steel. "Just to actually see that ship and know how much it meant not only to me but to the nation."

"By the commissioning of this ship today we reaffirm the best and the worst of humanity," said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. "Our thoughts and prayers will be with you when you sail out of this harbor and turn into the open ocean.
